PADI Open Water Diver Holiday Referral

PADI operates a referral system where you can be credited for partial completion of your course in Leeds and complete your course at any PADI dive centre in the world. The most common use of this is to complete theory work and confined water skill development before going away on holiday. No time wasted in classrooms in exotic places. Its straight into open water dives and completion of your course.

What happens in the classroom?

PADI is a leader in providing multimedia educational support materials to help you understand the theory of scuba diving. The PADI crewpak is included in the course price. You will learn the theory by reading the book in your crewpak and completing knowledge reviews at home. In the classroom we'll check the knowledge reviews watch an open water DVD and check your understanding by completing a quizes and a multiple choice final exam. You'll be supported by your instructor who will answer your questions, show you how your equipment works and make sure you understand enough to safely enjoy your new adventure.

What happens in the swimming pool?

Before going to Open water you will develop your underwater skills in the swimming pool. You'll master buoyancy so that you can hover in mid water, learn to clear your mask, good breathing techniques and lots more.

And in Open Water?

We will meet at a dive site suitable for open water training with all modern facilities - warm showers, toilets, and somewhere for a snack. British inland dive sites have been designed for your safety and to add interest to your diving by providing underwater wrecks to explore.

You will complete four open water dives over two days to finish your course. As your confidence grows and you show us how you've mastered those skills from the pool we'll gradually explore more of the site.

The daily charges and, where applicable, joining fees for using the dive sites, air and transport to and from the open water dive sites are not included in the course price. This is normal practice because costs vary with the site used but are normally about £20 per day.
